Nissan 370 Nismo - new images -
The last time we saw images of the Nissan's 370 Z Nismo S-Tune, they were obviously shot from a studio, and we were not sure how much could be believed. After all, the Nismo car came close on the heels of the regular 370 Z's introduction. Now we can see it's a fully-baked package as the in-house tuner car sees the light of day. There are two different packages: Nismo S-Tune Aero Package and Nismo S-Tune Performance Package. Nismo S-Tune Aero Package it is focused on improving the (...)

2010 Jaguar XJ spy shot -
Although we've caught the 2010 Jaguar XJ testing under the cloak of the current car's skin, this looks like possibly the first shot at the new body for the future full-size Jag. The XJ series has always followed similar styling trough all of its refreshes over the last 40 years, but now it seems all bets are off for 2010. Everything is subject to change from the little details like the "J-gate" shifter to the entire body styling. Rumors peg the new XJ as taking design cues from the (...)

Essen girls -
Like any good tuner car show, Essen didn't forget to include a few booth babes. For those who could take their eyes off the Audi R8 LMS, there were a few extra rewards around the German car show. .

Celebrity test drives - Lotus uses Evora for star power -
Nothing helps a car brand gain acceptance like a little star power. Alfa Romeo wouldn't have sold nearly as many original Spiders had it not been Dustan Hoffman's choice in The Graduate, and the Cadillac Escalade wouldn't be nearly as cool had it not been the choice of rappers first. Lotus seems to know this. It started first by making the new Evora's debut in Los Angles, and now its released the list of people who are in line for test drives. The list includes celebrity car guys like (...)

Opel Insignia by Steinmetz -
Opel may have touched on a winner with the new Insignia. After all, there weren't a whole lot of tuners getting in line for the last executive sedan, the Vectra. One example of what can be done with the Insignia was assembled by the German tuner Steinmetz. The modification package includes a body kit, more rigid suspension, improved brakes and ST7 20" alloy wheels in a choice of white or black. The body pack consists of a front lower spoiler, a rear spoiler, a custom grill, and new side (...)

2010 Audi TT RS - ready for Geneva debut -
Ferdinand Piëch, the current chairman of Volkswagen's Supervisory Board, started out at the company at Audi. He saw that there was a need for an engine that was larger than the current four cylinder units, but he also believed six cylinders was more than enough. To solve this problem, he resurrected a one of his own designs. In 1976 Audi got its first five-cylinder engine in the redesigned 5000 model. But what it's most famous for is being the engine of choice for Audi's rally-winning (...)

Nissan GT-R LM - new rendering -
Nissan seems to be an ‘all or nothing' kind of company. There was a five year gap between the last GT-R and the current car. Now it seems the modifications won't stop. Yesterday we saw the first details on the modified Spec-V version of the car, and now here's a new rendering of the even hotter LM (LeMans) edition. We were originally supposed to see the car in the flesh at the Detroit Auto Show, but now Nissan is skipping the January show (local dealers are filling the gap.) So since we (...)

Mercedes will drop V12 engines -
First Audi lobbed off two cylinders, then BMW followed. But not to be outdone, Mercedes is now rumored to be losing as much as four cylinders on some of its largest and fastest cars. Mercedes may be looking to replace its V10 and V12 models with four different models of twin turbo versions of its V8 engines. The cars that are likely effected will be the future S600, CL600, SL600, S65, CL65, and SL65. The luxury automaker was rumored to be working on a replacement for its current V12 (...)

Nissan GT-R Spec-V specifications leaked -
The guys over at GT-R Blog have their hooks deep into everything about the Nissan GT-R (obviously). So it's no surprise they were able to get their hands on some of the specs for the upcoming Spec V edition of the Japanese supercar. The biggest upgrades to the car seem to be weight savings mostly through carbon fiber parts and the deletion of the back seat. It also features overboost button for increased midrange boost during passing. No engine upgrade has been confirmed. As reported (...)

Panamera debut delayed until April 2009 -
Porsche purists will have an extra month to keep their heads high now that the German company is delaying the debut of its first sedan, the Panamera. When the first official information and photos began trickling out of Stuttgart last week, everything pointed to an official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Now Porsche has changed the month and continent, with the premiere at Shanghai Auto Show in April. Unlike the financial woes that have delayed cars from U.S. automakers, (...)

Ford: Three ways for the future -
As a struggle for bailout cash becomes a more pressing issue, I'm going to conclude my series of three ways for Detroit's Big Three carmakers to turn themselves around. Although the Senate is looking for ideas for fuel efficiency from the domestic automakers before it loosens the purse strings, I didn't make that suggestion to General Motors or Chrysler, and that will remain the same for Ford. Eco-friendly halo cars, like the Chevrolet Volt, are fine, but to energize more than just one (...)

Top Gear: Bugatti Veyron vs Pagani Zonda F -
There's a new series of Top Gear going on now. We in the States don't know much about what's going on (we're too proud to download it off the web, right?) We've already seen the TG team finally get their hands on the Bugatti Veyron and let it go around the test track. Now from some more perspective, see what it can do when pared directly against the ulta-quick Pagani Zonda F. (...)

BMW will drop high-revving engines in M models -
BMW may be looking to lose some cylinders in the name of economy. Just like Audi, it seems BMW will drop high-revving engines in favor of turbocharging on its "M" model cars. AutoWeek is reporting that tough emissions standards worldwide and soaring manufacturing costs in Germany are behind the switch. This reduces labor costs because BMW will be bolting turbochargers to engines that are already being produced on a large-scale. So now instead of producing a small number of V10 engines (...)

Saddam Hussein's Rolls-Royce Corniche for sale -
This is an eBay non-deal of the day. There may be a few people out there who think it's a good idea to own Saddam Hussein's Rolls-Royce Corniche, but possibly the best use for this car is target practice. The seller claims that the money used to obtain the car went to Hussein's Kuddish victims. Even if the car has gone only 900 km, its £150,000 price (about $230,000 at current rates) seems like the seller is looking to cash in on some morbid history. (...)
